Join Our Team
Echoes Within is a non-profit organization that assists our alternative and marginalized community members…and we need your help!
In our first phase, we want to have a variety of mental wellness and transformational experts available to our community. If you identify as an experienced hypnotherapist, personal development guide, transformational mentor, empowerment facilitator, or spiritual guide, we would love to help us support our community!
In addition, we need outreach coordinators, social media experts, copy writers, grant writers, and people who will help staff tables at various events throughout North America.

Our Team

Chair
Daniel Belum
(He/Him)
Responsibilities: Leading board meetings, setting agendas, and representing the board to the public.
Bio: Daniel Belum (he/him) has been an active member of a variety of alternative communities for over 20 years. Beyond leading workshops and classes around the world, he is the co-author of multiple alternative lifestyle books on polyamory, power exchange, and more. He is one of the former co-directors of the well regarded community center The Space. Echoes Within is an extension of the community work he has dedicated himself to.

Treasurer
Chandra
(She/Her)
Responsibilities: Tracking income and expenses, preparing budgets, handling bank accounts, ensuring financial reports are accurate.
Bio: Chandra (SHAHN-druh) is a dynamic blend of creative spirit and strategic precision. As Treasurer of Echoes Within, she brings over 15 years of project management experience, a sharp eye for process improvement, and an innate ability to connect people in ways that spark collaboration and growth. With roots in theater, public speaking, and adult learning, Chan (Shahn) knows how to engage both minds and hearts—whether in a boardroom or a virtual workshop.
Her passion for Echoes Within is rooted in three powerful words: kindness, happiness, and belonging. Chan believes in creating spaces where every person feels seen, valued, and safe. Through Echoes Within’s mission of dismantling social, racial, and economic barriers, she champions the idea that all communities deserve access to resources that nourish the soul. Speaking of nourishing the soul, Chan is a belly dancer, loves weight lifting and increasing her physical flexibility to match her mental agility.
Infused with cheer, curiosity, and courage (she’s not afraid of horses or bees!), Chan is a joyful force on the board. Throughout her nearly 20 years in alternative lifestyle communities, she’s known for her warmth, unwavering optimism, and belief in the power of radical welcome. While she humbly claims no talent for art or singing, she’s a master at making others feel like they belong.
Chan also grows sunflowers—almost exclusively. After surviving two near-death experiences in 2020 and being diagnosed with a chronic illness, these radiant blooms became her symbol of resilience. Tending to them helped her heal, and through that journey, she learned to see the extraordinary in others. “Life is fragile,” she says. “Why waste any moment of it?”
Just like a sunflower, Chan takes in what is toxic and transforms it into something useful, beautiful, or joy-filled.
